Even worse when the 'perception' of racism reflects the truth!
This international marketer seems to be less than clear on the
concept...hurry reconciliation to increase tourism??

Tourism industry seeks
greater reconciliation efforts
The Australian Government has been warned to
address the reconciliation issue before it does
long-term damage to the multi-billion dollar tourism
industry.
The National Conference of Inbound Tourism
Operators in Hobart has been told Australia is
perceived by many people overseas as racist
because of its treatment of Aborigines.
International marketer Bob Pritchard says the
issue must be resolved, particularly in the lead-up
to the Olympic Games where world attention will
focus on Australia.
Mr Pritchard says even if untrue, the perception of
being racist is damaging.
"I think if someone gets a view that you are racist,
that view lingers," he said.
"It doesn't go away overnight, it sits with you,
particularly if you are not a white person - you do
get put off by it.
"That lasts for generations, so that the potential
damage over 20 years is almost immeasurable."
