I saw something in the paper the other week which discussed an interesting
point to the Sorry debate which no one has ever mentioned before.
If people want a 'sorry' for past injustices and taking over of ones land
from the 1700s, than John Howard is not the person to be chasing.
Shouldn't it be the Queen, for it was 'her country - her people' that
started the problem in the first place.
She is the one people should be having a go at. And it's true because if not
for her 'people' sending over Mr Cook and his crew, and don't forget the
convicts, then perhaps a very different path of history would have been
written.
But we can't rewrite history.
So if people truly want to get to the bottom of this problem, why didn't
anybody force her to apologise while she was over here recently?
By the looks of the media, most people were happy to shake her hand and
curtsy to her feet.
People seem to love her - yet it was her 'people' who started the whole
problem of allegedly 'developing Australia'.
So why don't people show their obvious disgust, hatred and contempt for
her??? Or is she regarded as too much of a lady? I doubt it!!
I've never seen anything blasting her over this issue.
