  Reconciliation concert for
  Port Augusta area

The Australian Chamber Orchestra will perform
a free reconciliation concert at the Davenport
community near Port Augusta on 28 July.

Port Augusta arts officer Nina O'brien says
  securing the world renowned performance
group is a great coup for the community, and
will bring together the Aboriginal and
  non-Aboriginal populations.

She says the ACO will perform at the Davenport
Community Hall and all residents of Port
  Augusta are encouraged to attend.

"Most of the non-indigenous population don't
have a real reason to go out to the ABoriginal
settlement so this is a great opportunity for
them to do so and have a look around its right
on our doorstep in Port Augusta."

"It's part of our community, it's part of our
identity, so it's particularly important for the
white popultion to go out there and just have a
  look around."
