it is good to see that todays goverment indorses such progress in the remote communities. Yet is it a progressive study or is it the real thing. obviously this encourges self determination in community developmen t yet it is still self relent on the established ecomonic structure that we as tax payer endorse. let me suggest an alternative a health development program which encorpates taking the shit out of everything. Vermiculture. Vermitech a melbourne firm engineering consultants for waste management. endorsed bio-product for soil conditioning. these consultants have already established processing plants around australia and work close with the uni. of sdyney for continual up dates on the use and acceptable standard grading of the bio-products. abig_ant >From: "Liam" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: [recoznet2] Fw: [atsic] Media Release: Army Engineers help remote >Territorian communities >Date: Tue, 13 Jun 2000 12:00:55 +1000 > > >-----Original Message----- >From: Webcentral <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > > >PR 65/00 > >Friday, 9 June 2000 > > > >Army Engineers help remote Territorian communities > > > >Brisbane-based Army Engineers from 21 Construction Squadron, which >recently > >saw active service in East Timor, have deployed through Darwin to >Melville > >Island where they will assist the Milikapiti community as part of the > >ATSIC/Army Community Assistance Program (AACAP). > > > >AACAP is a national initiative announced by the Federal Government in >1996 > >which combines the efforts of ATSIC, Army and the Department of Health >and > >Aged Care Services (DHACS) to deliver urgently needed health >infrastructure > >to remote Indigenous communities. > > > >At Milikapiti the soldiers are constructing roads, drainage and houses as > >well as renovating existing buildings.
