Dawn,

I believe that the government, if willing to answer, would only wish to
address quantity questions such as those which were asked to compile the
Statistical annex of the review of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander education policy 1993/4. However I believe that some sense of for
want of a better word "Soul" needs to be injected into the debate which is
not just about social just, equity and access but also about the reality of
investing in Indigenous education and training . Australia has not moved as
close to the concept of the clever country as it had wished or should have
by this stage because the origins of the process come from exclusion rather
than inclusion and the development of all possible talents and forms of
"cleverness".

However my comment to the list was to solicit from others what questions on
Indigenous education and training policy they would like to ask the current
federal government.

So please tell me what you think would be appropriate.

Davina

It is a very interesting process to do a survey of the sort that you want to
do. What categories, types of questions, etc, do you intend to work with?
Sincerely
