TERRY KIFT wrote: I am a journalism student at RMIT Melbourne. I am writing a feature article about the response of members of the Aboriginal community to the Olympics, which were touted by the sections of the mainstream media as "Reconciliation itself". In writing my article, I am looking to find out what the indigenous community thought about such features of the Games as the opening ceremony, the role of Cathy Freeman, the 'Sorry' T-Shirts worn by Midnight Oil and so on. While I have spoken to spokespeople from groups such as ATSIC and the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation, I am more interested to speak to people who are not linked to formal bureacratic bodies to get their impressions. If you can help by putting me in touch with anyone interested in discussing these issues I can be contected by e-mail or on telephone no (03) 9844 4348. Thankyou for your help Tracey Kift |
