>From Reconnet-l I am an educational psychologist, and active in the people's movement for reconciliation through ANTaR and the National Sorry Day Committee (NSDC). The NSDC has asked me to prepare a paper to be delivered at a seminar for opinion makers/politicians in Canberra early next year.
The paper will: * analyze and evaluate the response to the 54 recommendations of the Bringing Them Home Report by all levels of Government, by the churches and other institutions. * point out immediate and future needs for the stolen generations and for all affected by the removals. * recommend necessary policy and legislative change. I write to ask everyone in the Stolen Generations, Sorry Day and Journey of Healing networks for their assistance in preparing the paper. The NSDC wishes the paper to be a tool for education and advocacy, up-to-date and persuasive. We all need it to achieve maximum impact. Can you think of information and people of whom we should be aware in preparing the paper? You may know of people who are researching, commenting or writing on stolen generations issues. You may be able to point to published articles. You may know of data sources which could be tapped. You may be able to suggest people who should be contacted. I would be thankful for any help you may be able to give in identifying materials, ideas, people and resources which could help. Could you please contact me by email ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), fax (02 9665 4520), phone (02 9665 9639). My mail address is 5/4 Wolseley Road, Coogee NSW 2034.
