Hi,

I am Simon from France, I have now been living in the USA for 3 years. I
hold a Master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering from France, and now
working on a PhD in the same field in the USA.

I absolutely love coding, and given my field of study, it has been a strong
part of my life since the beginning of college. I admire the open-source
movement as it delivers some great and free technologies, through the
passion and collaboration of people. I'd like to be a part of that too: use
my skills to contribute to an awesome open-source project, learn new skills
at the same time, and hopefully meet some similar people with the same
vision and passion. Why Open Office ? Because it has saved my life for
writing reports and making presentations for free, when I didn't have a
Microsoft Office key. It's even better than its expensive rival!

I know C and C++ fairly well. Some practical use of these (besides passing
my classes obviously) has been: programming microcontrollers and
automatizing and synchronizing instruments together (actuators, robots,
vector analyzers, serial radios ...), data processing and post-processing.
To achieve that, I have also used (even though it may be less relevant for
this project) VBA, Labview and Matlab. I am comfortable with Windows and
Unix. I can use Mac OS but have never programmed with it.

If a resume is needed, I can provide that. If anything else is needed, I
will strive to provide it as well. I am ready to start right away! Let me
stress that I am not scared to learn new skills and get out of my comfort
zone, I am independent and a fast learner.

I am excited to hear back,

Simon.
