Thanks for letting me know. DevOps deals with orchestration of
containers
(e.g kubernetes and docker) to automate the development process, such as
continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) of your
applications/services. So applications/microservices in the cloud
basically. Some of DevOps tools are Jenkins, Ansible, Helm, etc.
Writing
custom codes to automate the CI/CD process is a big part of DevOps.
And I
want to help out in that area if you have such needs.
Sure we do need DevOps, thanks for your availability!
More than for OpenOffice itself, we would need your skills for our web
applications like https://wiki.openoffice.org/ (read: docker
containers for local setup; build script pulling the different parts
of code from the appropriate repositories; CI/CD for automated tests
of our plugins and ensuring pages don't break).
If you are interested, let us know and I'll make sure you are kept in
the loop next week, when we'll start dockerizing the wiki site.
Wow, Andrea. Hmm, okay if we start docker stuff. I would point out that
the openGrok needs an update, too.
I can provide the setup and Dylan can check if he can create the docker
for it? - There are official OpenGrok Docker builds, so it should not be
a big deal.
Would that be a thing?
