A few years ago I tested gcj, but it only worked for hello world examples, and I am afraid, it hasn't improuved much.

Anyway, to me, your request does not make much sense at the current stage of red5: the "Enduser" only needs a webbrowser with flashplayer,  the developer needs to know java anyway, because now only Java is supported as serverside language. Or who else are you targeting ?
