I think it would be great to combine the "live" and "record" / "append"
modes so clients could for example pass "live, record" as stream mode
and Red5 would automatically publish the stream and record it. That way
the app. developer wouldn't have to implement code on the server himself.
However this will not be compatible to FCS/FMS.
