I succesfully used Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000 with ubuntu ( I believe I used 
philips drivers for it

That one got broken so I had to buy new one, (very cheap one "logitech 
messanger something") 
but haven't tried it yet (have bought a new pc also, still need to install 
linux)
