Hi,

About red 5 Memory USE,

-Avoid Using JDK for production use, it uses a lot more of memory (probably obvious doh!)
-We changed to JRE 1.5 and lowered memory use a lot
-ON our Centos 4 Installation (RED5 0.5):

Each additional listener takes up 7 Megabytes upon connection and lowers later somehow,

12 Users and base take up now 35 megabytes Average 3mb per user
We ' ll Try taking stats on during peak hours.

To avoid the users that get stuck by network problems, we restart red 5 every night.

So far 0.5 Is much better for streaming, Pause problems are gone, we will do some extra testing on saved FLVs and MP3.

Your getting there! Thanks to all The team.

Regards

Subject: Re: [Red5] Logging Red5 flv streaming

Im considering building some kind of logging class to do just that whenever I get around to it. It would be nice if it did have such an implemnentation in place, I know FMS already does it tracking similar data to windows media in W3C format. Check my previous posts. when we ever manage to implement the vod stuff we def need logging, or how else can we track the usage.

IP address is more important than the rest too, so
if someone has an easy way to get that, it would be appreciated.

I haven't test it but there's a method that returns a String getRemoteAddress()on IConnection interface
