That of course is totally feasable. I think that Nicolas himself was
looking creating something like this with Haxe. You might want to
contact him to see what he's up to.

Also, there's no reason why you couldn't get REd5 running as is on
someone's machine, even if it might be a bit bigger and fuller
featured than you are looking for.
