I found webcam performance in .5 rc & final running under Windows (tried 3 different win boxes with 2k, xp and 2003, all identical results) worse than .41... also .5 rc and final were buggier, as far as stream subscribing.
I havent tried .5 under linux yet... but I really don't expect it to be any better.
