I know what you mean about the video Component, I had to do the same thing for xray's help videos (build from scratch)

sorry i didnt get any of that. im using flex builder, the VideoDisplay
comp is a bit shitty in fact doesnt work with red5, the netstream is
inaccessible and always fails with errors thats its creating the
netstream before a connection lol. So i had to build my own component,
with rtmpt fallback capabilities. everything is pretty standard, these
videos obviouslly do have meta data what im saying is it the onMetaData
event only gets called if the stream is not in VOD mode ! ive already
tested it with FMS and its fine.
