Lately I've been using DSS (Darwin Streaming Server) to handle the audio stream so if the video isn't there the audio is there and vice/versa. I noticed recently that Perian came out- an opensource library for quicktime to handle the .flv format and I tested it and it works good. My questions is- do you think it will be possible for DSS to relay the .flv data in a stream much like it does for the H.264? This is purely conceptual but since there is already XGrid support for this it would be great to not have to rewrite all of this and use Red5 for the broadcaster because it is a better broadcaster than the one in DSS. This could also be the solution for not having to pay $$$ for a windows quicktime broadcaster. Let me know what you think.
