Ive also noticed this - Some of my video files are over 200mb and on slower severs I have noticed a very significant lag before it starts. Once it starts, I can jump anywhere in the video, but optimizing that initial load time is very important.

Does anyone know of any tweaks or changes that can fix this?

I´m currently working with 0.5 stable / 0.6 trunk. Both Versions seem to load flv Videos fully into the ram before playing a bit. This causes no trouble while the videos are short/small, but it does make some trouble if the videos are large.
Id like to know if
1.) I am right, that the vids are loaded fully into the cache before playing ... and if yes
2.) Is there a possible solution / workaround to stop this behaviour.
