If you install Red5 you get the option of setting port numbers. (You can also change to port numbers in the config files found under /conf.) One of them is for rtmpt which is the http tunneled version of the rtmp protocol. I find that if you set this to 80 you will be passed through by most firewalls. In the server connection string in Flash you will have to explicitly set the portnumber to 80 (rtmpt://localhost:80/appname)
