Hi,

Well, one problem solved, Red5 streams just fine! :)

The problem was, that the Flash Video Player 3.1, wich I have been testing
for playing rtmp streams MUST be served through real webserver, not via
file:///C:/.../flvplayer.swf. When served via file:// it is playing local
files, but won't play rtmp sources, not via localhost nor remote sources.

When I tried to place the player on my localhost apache and run it through
http://localhost/.../flvplayer.swf it suddenly started to play rtmp
sources without any problems ... huh ... a dumb one...

So I've gone further on with testing and successfuly started Red5
(compiled from trunk) on an freeBSD 6.1 (P3 866MHz, 512MB RAM - not a fast
fury, tough) with apache webserver - an woila - my first streaming server up
and running!

Can you please test those links and verify you can play the clips?
