we bought a Logitech webcam and tried recording from windows. That
yields acceptable quality and the audio sync is perfect. Maybe flash
streaming isn't as well optimized on the mac.
Does anyone know whether increasing NetStream.setBufferTime does
actually have an effect on published streams? There doens't seem to be
a difference on good connections but this might make a difference on
low bandwidth connection. Especially, when one doesn't care about live
playback of the recorded streams.

Well, we asked Nellymoser and received an evaluation copy. We don't
have pricing information yet, but the price is rumored to be fairly
high.
