John, thanks for the tip. Yes, it works now - I can do the video
recording/playback now by choosing the right settings. Part of the problem was
selecting the right driver from the list, and the right camera (one that
actually works on Win Server 2003)
-Oke.

the settings panel of what the camera is capturing?

I'm trying to use the SimpleRecorder and SimpleBroadcaster
to create/view my webcam video streams but my swf video pane is always blank
(and
zero-length flv files are created in the streams directory). Does the
"videoContainer" component
work "as is" or is there some other object I should incorporate into it to make
this work?
Or could this perhaps be due to a problem with my webcam itself?
(SimpleStreamPlayer works just fine - I can view the Spiderman flv.)
Any help appreciated.

I redid all of the demos and they're out in the repository under swf/samples
SimpleBallDemo
SimpleBroadcaster
SimpleSubscriber
SimpleChat
SimpleStreamPlayer
SimpleRecorder
All demos consist of one frame of code and are very basic but well commented
at every line of code.
This is ready for RC2 pending Michael's and other reviews
Thanks all!
