I think an additional point would be that there is a third offerring out
there called Wowsa media. They are proprietary but are based on the same
protocols, internal handling of objects, etc...

They have even been to public trade shows.

I hope this shows that Red5 is not the only server with knowledge to pass in
data to the Flash Player.
Again, all information related to Red5 and the way it was built is out in
the open. Ask your lawyers to read whats out there, take into account that
other groups work with open source tools, and then make your decision based
on that.

This is as far as we can go because we have not received any letters from
Adobe stating their stance. This is actually quite similar to other open
source efforts based on platforms. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,

Also do not forget that they are a corporation, and
corporations are always depending on their
shareholders, whom always seek for profit, like your
company does also.

You'd better go to them yourself and ask, probably
their PR will ask you why you do not use fms/fcs, they
will try to convince you to use theirs
based on their own views and reasons(hell, we all
know that the price is
very-extremely-mega-ultra-giga-tera-exa-peta unfair),
in any way(maybe you will get a discount :P), if you
plan on releasing something that you think it will be
big, you better seek their advice.
