Hi Aaron !
Sounds like the best thing to do would be to download the required 1.5
sdk from java.sun.com and install that. It may well be possible to do
it in a different way but our experience is that by the book works quite
well.
When you have downloaded the java SDK binary and installed it then again
make the checks recommended and then post back
Key steps for us were to
1. cd /usr/bin
2. ln -s /usr[whatever the java sdk directory is]/bin/java
3. export JAVA_HOME=[JavaSDK base directory]
4. export JAVA_VERSION=1.5
then attempt to start Red5
Feel welcome to post back
Kind regards
Mike and Stephie

I'm guessing this is contributing to the problem

Hi Aaron !
Do you have a java SDK installed?
Try the
java -- version
command
Also try
set | grep java
and see if the environmental variables are set.
Post back and let us know how you get on
Kind regards

Greetings,
So far, i have installed the 0.6rc1 deb package (the rc2 one isn't
there). I have set it to bind to a specific IP in red5.properties.
I'm not really sure what else needs to change to get it running.
There seems to be little documentation (unless im just not seeing
it). I tried creating an account to get into the wiki, but it says
access denied.
Thanks in advance for the assistance!

Hi Aaron !
Just letting you know that we have had it working fine on Debian --
suggest post some specifics like your installation procedure etc and
let's see if we can help

Hello,
I am new to red5 and haven't found any tutorials or such to aid in
getting it up and running. Do these exist?
Currently I have installed the .deb package, but it does not seem to
start, and I have not been able to locate the log files.
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thanks!
