correct, if you don't need rtmpt or the debug proxy, they can be
deactivated. Just comment them out in the xml config file and then restart
Red5.
Also:

Change admin password
Do not install any of the example applications
If you wanted, you could change the default rtmp port
you could set up a dummy server on 1935 which people would try to hack until
their blue in the face.. unsuccessfully might i add ;)

Hi,

Me again ;-)

I'm not very familiar with java/servlet based http servers. Is there
anything I need to be aware of relating to security for using Red5 in a
production enviroment?
I mean, what do I need to do to make sure the Server doesn't get hacked.
Sure - changing the admin password - or is it possible to deactivate the
admin page?
Are there any other (hidden) admin interfaces i need to be aware of?
And what's this debug proxy port all about? Can i turn it off?
RTMPT also doesn't seem to be necessary most of the times - can it be
turned
off?

Thanks in advance

Claudius
