Inari,

I have just started testing red5 on my mac, so I may have some tips for you.  First of all from, you can't just copy the files onto a web server like html files and expect red5 to run. You don't need a web server at all to test red5, so I suggest you start by testing red5 on your local machine only first. There wasn't much remedial documentation included with the mac distribution, so I figured out the following.

1. Install red5 on you mac. Copy the entire red5 directory onto your machine. http://www.red5.nl/installer/setup-red5-06rc2.dmg

2. Run red5.app. This is the red5 server. You can confirm that the server is running by going here in your web browser:  http://localhost:5080/
Many of the links from the links of the web pages didn't work for me. This one did, however: http://localhost:5080/demos/ofla_demo.swf

You may want to check out red5 video tutorials for beginners here. http://www.flashextensions.com/tutorials.php (click to the second page of tutorials at the bottom and look for red5)

I was more successful browsing to the .swf files and playing them in a standalone swf player. The .swf files are the "clients' to the server.

    browse to  .../red5/flash/samples/
open the .swf files to test.

I use a stand alone .swf player to test easily.  If you don't have one already, you can find one here: http://mac.eltima.com/freeflashplayer.html.   Sometimes you will need to open two instances of the .swf in two different windows to see it work. (Chat, conference, and the ball demo need two separate clients to see that it's working) However, you can run everything from your local machine to test first. Then you can worry about installing on the server later.

local machine?. - at the same time while i need to make the stream by
example -
I need some open port in my web - server?.

Sorry if i not understand quickly... But when I put the files that you
mentioned, If I not run previous red5 in the local machine nothing
happen: the same, when I tried to change rtmp://localhost/oflaDemo for
my server name.

I put the files in a folder in my web server (called Red5), I need to
put the folder or files in the main root in the web server?

on the server you need at least:

/conf
/lib
/red.sh
/red.jar
/webapps

you start it with ./red5.sh
