IMHO many users would appreciate Red5 being as simple and unobtrusive to their environment and frameworks of choice as possible.
My ideal Red5 distribution would be a jar for my WEB-INF/lib that includes API and helper classes i can use in my own application, instead of using the Red5 webapp, plus a red5.properties or whatnot in the classpath (i.e. WEB-INF/classes) for configuration. I think this can be summarized as "an API instead of yet another frameworkish thing", where frameworkish for me points the requirements in specific structure and work on (more than one) config files.
