Hi Antonio, I think Red5 couldn't help you to transcode. Of course you can integrate ffmpeg with red5, but I think it is will same solution as integration ffmpeg with Tomcat servlet-container. And personal question to you - could you send me a some information about mpeg4 decoder on pure java? (I going to use it for other project).

Hi, this is a newbie question, so be warned ;) I'm looking for a streaming server that has as input flv movies and which should output mpeg4 streams. For the quick ones: Does Red5 help me in that? For the ones who appreciate more details: As I've to stream flv videos to a java applet, and as there's no flv decoder for java available (in pure java!), but there are libs that decode mpeg4 in pure java, I was looking for a solution to transcode the flv to mpeg4 on server side. I think I could use FFMPEG for the transcoding, but I'm not sure how that could integrate in RED5. Any comments appreciated! Regards, Toni -- Ing.
