not sure how to count those).
* 240x160x15fps at 80 quality with no bandwidth restrictions. This is
about 10-15kb/s a stream.

Ok, so the problem is with live not vod.
If it doing any disk IO? recording?

I suspect that most time will be taken up with disk IO currently.
