Hi guys~
I'm planning red5 for on-demand video streaming on my project.
i'm using flvplayer as my client side player.
But i've a big problem, that's when a video streams plays and finish,
and click play button again the stream does not restart. i've been testing this
problem on all versions after 0.6.0rc3 which started creating meta file with
keyframe-position info for flvs.
There was no error on server, but just warning messages of unhandled ping.
I think the problem have nothing to do with client side player (flvplayer),
cause i've tested this with other many flv player and also just simple
Netstream object.
So yersteday i've tried red5 0.6.0rc2 (which don't create meta file), the video
restarts ok~ I've no clue what's reason the latest red5s broke on that.
So i've downgraded our production red5 server to 0.6.0rc2.
Any tips on this problem guys~
Anybody have encountered same problem on recent version?

Sure Vlad,
Here you go.
In your server.xml for Tomcat make sure this is un-commented:
<!-- Define a Coyote/JK2 AJP 1.3 Connector on port 8009 -->
<Connector className="org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteConnector"
port="8009" minProcessors="5" maxProcessors="75"
enableLookups="true" redirectPort="8443"
acceptCount="10" debug="0" connectionTimeout="20000"
useURIValidationHack="false"
protocolHandlerClassName="
org.apache.jk.server.JkCoyoteHandler"/>
Place the latest JK_MOD.so in the modules folder of Apache2.
In your http.conf file in the conf folder in Apache near the bottom after
<virtualhosts> place the following:
**********************************************************************************************
JkWorkersFile D:/java/Apache2/conf/workers.properties
JkLogFile D:/java/Apache2/logs/mod_jk.log
# Set the jk log level [debug/error/info]
JkLogLevel info
# Select the log format
JkLogStampFormat "[%a %b %d %H:%M:%S %Y] "
# JkOptions indicate to send SSL KEY SIZE,
JkOptions +ForwardKeySize +ForwardURICompat -ForwardDirectories
# JkRequestLogFormat set the request format
JkRequestLogFormat "%w %V %T"
<VirtualHost *>
ServerName red5
DocumentRoot D:/java/Tomcat55/webapps
JkMount /* worker1
<Directory "/">
Options Indexes MultiViews
AllowOverride None
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
<Location "/WEB-INF/">
AllowOverride None
deny from all
</Location>
</VirtualHost>
Lastly, add a workers.properties file to your Apache conf folder with the
following:
# Define 1 ajp13 worker
worker.list=worker1
# Set properties for worker1 (ajp13)
worker.worker1.type=ajp13
worker.worker1.host=localhost
worker.worker1.port=8009
worker.worker1.lbfactor=50
worker.worker1.cachesize=10
worker.worker1.cache_timeout=600
worker.worker1.socket_keepalive=1
worker.worker1.socket_timeout=300
Another good place to review Mod_jk is the following:
http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/
under reference guide click on Apache.
Hope this help!!
Good luck,
Lenny

Hi Dominick,
what version of the Flash Player are you using? Does it also crash
with the standalone player? Are you using the latest version of Red5?
Versions prior to 0.6 didn't timeout when a client tried to connect
to the rtmpt port that wasn't enabled, causing the port tester app to
crash after a while. Red5 now times out after 5 seconds and this
should prevent the app from crashing.
