1) I want to implement a simple video conferencing system. One of the features should be to provide a proxy for the video stream. The Proxy should be able to decode the video stream of that is transported with the rtmp, and encode it different for every client. Is this possible and has it been done before?
2) I was wondering if red5 is necessary for a simple video conferencing system. Simple means no shared objects involved . Just open a network stream and attach it a camera. What functionality does red5 actually provide for such a scenario. How much work would it be to 'downstrip' red5?
