Hello, Over the last couple of days I have been trying to determine the cause of a problem encoding a live stream using On2 Flix Live to Red5, and as it happens, Wowza Media Server.
The problem was that when playing back the stream, it would start okay (though "degraded" might be a better description), and then after about 25 seconds the video would totally degrade. The audio would continue unabated however. Since I'm also looking at Wowza, I called them up to see what the problem might be, and as it turns out they released a new version today to address the issue. It appears to be something caused by the new On2 Flix encoder version 8.0.1.9. After I upgraded WMS (1.1.1 -> 1.1.2), the problem went away and I can now play back live video perfectly. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem with Red5, or if there are plans to address it. Conversely, what encoder software are people currently using to create live streams? It's been a struggle to track all this stuff down in the mailing lists and the sparse documentation on the subject. Thanks for any assistance, -- dave phinney servantis information systems _______________________________________________ Red5 mailing list [email protected] http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/red5_osflash.org
