Hi,

I'm testing Red5 server to stream live video and comparing the result with the
FMS. I want to get the best quality so I'm also testing the Flix Live Encoder
and the Flash Media Encoder, as they encode the video using the On2 codec. As
far as I know the Flash Player uses the Sorenson codec to encode the videos,
getting a worse result.

When I use Flix software, the result I get is fine using settingg for low
(128kbps) and high bandwidth (750kbps). But when I use Flash Media Encoder the
player warns me about insufficient bandwith and the video isn't smooth at all,
stopping every now and then. This happens even if I encode the video for a very
low bandwidth (150kbps). The encoder application and the Red5 server are
running in localhost.

If I run the same tests using the FMS I get a good result in both cases.

Does anybody know something about what I explained? Is there any problem
between Flash Media Encoder and Red5? Or, is this a configuration issue? Any
advice?

Thanks in advance,
Ivan
