Hi Dan,

Thanks for your response.

Yeah, I have John's Flex FLV Player and it is very good.

I just stated looking around at Youtube and some other websites with FLV
players
and noticed how cool looking their players are.

When it comes to designing something cool, I am discovering
that the creative gene didn't make it to my DNA. : )

Now that we have the following:

1. Flex 3 - Just when I was starting to get comfortable with Flex 2.01.
2. AIR - I noticed that Martjin was going to build the AdminPanel with AIR
3. Cairngorm - Thijs does a great job with this but from what I understand
this is an Enterprise development package. Trying to extract the flv player
for videos and live publishing from the publisher package has been just
about impossible for me. And,it is a very good player for both videos and
live publishing.

It is now becoming a little confusing just what to use.

Would be nice if someone with knowledge of each of these items would give a
brief
description of what each of the items can do and why they choose to use it
exclusively.

This might help the rest of us knuckleheads who don't know what to use. : )

Searching Google trying to find another Flex FLV player has been very
discouraging.

The only FLV player I have found in Google that is based purely on Flex is
John Grden's
and all the RED5 users that have been learning it have just about worn it
out. If John had not taken the time to do this, I don't know what a lot of
us would have done.

Anyway, thanks for your response Dan. Don't do anything that might get you
in trouble with your employer. But, if you do have an example or examples
you could share, it would be appreciated.

Also, thanks for the contributions you have previously made to the RED5 list
along with all the other contributors.

Regards,

Lenny

There is the flex flv player supplied in the swf demos. I have one I
built which does seeking / full controls / skinnable / bitrate auto
detection / bitrate chooser. However it was done for the company I work
for. I could refactor things and make it available I guess ....
