I have installed Red5 on a custom RHEL VPS in the past and everything went pretty well. It was a pretty beefy VPS, so I didn't need to make any modifications for memory consumption. The only thing I remember missing was a Red5 startup script for init.d, but I seem to recall seeing one in the redhat build trunk somewhere.
Good luck! On 6/28/07, Steve Eisenberg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hello: I just joined the list and seeking some advice from others who have tried using Red 5 on either Linux Red Hat Enterprise Edition or CentOS. Right now I'm on a VPS with Linux Red Hat Enterprise, but may switch to another host- also a with a vps plan running Cent OS. Are there any special requirements to run Red 5 in terms of memory, or preference to either version of Linux that I mentioned? Do you need other software components installed? Has anyone tried integrating Red5 with open ads- AKA PHP ads new, AKA Max Media Manager? It would nice to serve flash video content in the form of ads using Red 5 or another open source Ad Server that supports flash video and audio. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Looking forward to participating on the list.
