Hi one and all, I'm new around here..
I've been playing with red5 and getting it all together. So far it looks okay, but I got something going on I can't understand.. I'm creating a shared object in a room on roomstart, and when a client connects, it gets created as expected.. however, when all the clients disconnect, it gets destroyed, but it seems that roomstart doesn't get triggered again, so my SO ends up bein null.. I've seen that if you set the so as persistent this error is overcome, apparently, however I don't know because if I set it as persistent I get a stack trace (in a few lines). But I don't really give a hoot about the stack trace, because I don't see why that should be the case? surely it's a bug? If I'm doing something wrong or misunderstanding persistent then please let me know. FYI : for me persistent doesn't mean a work around for roomstart not getting re-triggered, or an SO getting accidentally deleted) - it means serialize SO contents to secondary storage.. The docs are much better than I expected, but are still vague on this whole business, which leads me to believe there is a bug here. I can't get you a stack trace right now, because knackered my build up, I'm int he process of isntalling spring and ivy and will rebuild from the trunk, and see if this still happens, if so, I'll be back with a stack trace.. and in the meantime, any help would be appreciated.. I'm an RoR man these days, so all this config, setting up and installing stuff is not as natural to me as it used to be :-( Getting there, though.. Many thanks for your time, infrid _______________________________________________ Red5 mailing list [email protected] http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/red5_osflash.org
