Hello all,

I've brought this up in the past but I think I'm more equipped with more
info to re-submit it. I have a developer that (for a long time now) cannot
stream videos from (out of the box) red5 0.6.2 on centos because of an
instable 1935 connection he has on his computer or ISP or something (he's
not from behind a firewall or proxy either). He's troubleshot everything on
his end (ie. computer settings, firewall, virus protection, browsers
settings, connection tests at flashguru, config in red5) and still can't
stream red5 videos.

It seems that Red5 does not automatically detect working ports and correct
it like FMS and wowza do (which he can stream from). Here's a scenario. If
port 1935 is not stable (for whatever reason) then port 80 or port 443 would
automatically be used and swapped if need be on the fly. Also, I don't
think it's just about port correction, I think it's somewhere deep in the
code too after that port has been corrected. I'm not that knowledgeable of
xml and java, so this is where the experts would come into play to shed some
light.

What's weird is, he's the only one I've every heard of with this problem,
but, if he can't stream, that makes me think someone else out there in the
world can't stream red5 apps out of box. I think if something like auto
port correction or something was implemented it would give red5 greater
stability on the whole. I would have him fix this, but he can't even stream
for testing purposes. I figure he'd be a great candidate to use for
troubleshooting this issue and fixing it for the overall red5 dist.

Thanks,
Ben
