Claudio Ranieri has admitted the Premiership title fight is now a two-way scrap between Manchester United and Arsenal after Chelsea's 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.
For the second time in a month, Diego Forlan left the Blues on their knees by smashing home a last-gasp winner. While the Uruguayan's previous strike in the Worthington Cup was precious, his latest effort was priceless - the most important goal of his United career so far, according to ecstatic manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Ranieri knew it too and with Arsenal poised to extend their advantage over Chelsea to 11 points by notching a home win over struggling West Ham on Sunday, the Italian feels hopes of a first league title since 1955 have been dashed. "The fight is between Arsenal and Manchester United now," he said. "At the start of the season I said my aim was to put Chelsea into the top four. I never thought we could win the league and at the moment I don't know who will." Ranieri added: "We were the better team in the first half but we were very unlucky. "They only had one chance during that time and that was through our own mistake. We caused Manchester United a lot of difficulties, so I can be happy with that, if not the result." *************************************** Reply to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe to the list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe from the list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Your use of Yahoo!
