Chief executive Peter Kenyon has admitted second best is not good enough for
Manchester United .

United finished runners-up to Liverpool in the Worthington Cup and lie
second to in-form Arsenal in the Premiership.

The Reds have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions
League, but that achievement alone does not add up to a successful season
for United in Kenyon's eyes.

Having finished last season without a trophy, lifting silverware has become
the number one priority for United this season.

"By our standards, it would not be good enough to finish runners-up in the
Premiership and Worthington Cup and reach the quarter-finals of the
Champions League," Kenyon told the Daily Express.

"We have a quality in our team that is second to none but we came out of
last season pretty disappointed that we didn't win any silverware.

"At the moment we're second in the Premiership and through to the
quarter-finals of the Champions League.

"We have to be pretty satisfied with that, but we still believe we have
everything to go for.

"There is a huge hunger to win here and we have the best manager in club
football."
