Sir Alex Ferguson expects Ruud van Nistelrooy to be a Manchester United player for the next six years.
The Dutch striker has scored 80 goals in two seasons since arriving at Old Trafford in a 19million move from PSV Eindhoven. He has been in superb form during United's pre-season tour to the USA, scoring a sensational goal in the 4-1 win over Juventus in New York. However, manager Ferguson believes 27-year-old van Nistelrooy, who is two years into a five-year contract, will get better still. "I can see him playing for us for another six years and, in that time, I think he can just get better and better," Ferguson told The Sun. "His form is better now than it was in the previous two seasons and he is still at an age where he can be regarded as a young striker. "If he is still improving now, the finished article is yet to come. "For me, he is already alongside that clutch of top world players like Raul and Ronaldo." ________________________________________________________________________ Want to chat instantly with your online friends?
