Manchester United are hoping to beat a host of interested parties to the signature of Anderlecht defender Vincent Kompany, reports The People. The 17-year-old was watched in his side's Champions League outing against Celtic and is valued at �2million. Kompany was recently selected for the Belgium side for a 2004 Euro qualifier.
