I thought it was a penalty. A soft-ish one, but a penalty nevertheless. I
couldn't tell at the game, but just seen it on TV.

The following is all with the benefit of hindsight..............
It was a close game, Chelsea had more clear cut chances, as you would expect
of the home team, but mainly limited to shots from outside the box. I
thought Roy Keane was magnificent again - he must get so frustrated at times
with those around him! I think in Tim Howard we have found a real gem, but
it's still early days.

I am getting seriously worried about John O'Shea. His performances this
season have been average at best and sometimes terrible. I'm not picking on
him specifically regarding today, but once again he just looked out of
sorts. Is he really a fullback or should we use him only for central
defence? Was last season a fluke, or is it that he's got into a rut and is
lacking confidence? Only time will tell and I hope he comes out of it and
regains the form of last season, but it seems at present he's going though
what happened to Wes Brown - a dose of reality after initially looking like
a world-beater...

Phil Nev in midfield seems to work really well at Old Trafford, but less so
away from home for some reason. If Kleberson had more games under his belt I
think he would have started. Djemba Djemba seems to have disappeared for
now - maybe he'll play at West Brom? And it should have been Giggs
left/Ronaldo right from the start. When Diego took the ball off Cudicini and
cut it back brilliantly to Giggs, he had to come inside because it was on
his right foot, and the chance was lost.

Forlan looked once again not good enough at this level. He really is an
enigma - some brilliant touches, good ideas, constant nuisance to
defences......but also constantly guilty of schoolboy errors. There is much
debate among Reds about Forlan's quality or lack of, but in the end what
decides it for me is that he doesn't scare defenders - he's too easily
brushed aside. I think most premiership defenders would fancy their chances
against him, so when they see him line up with RVN they start the game in a
more positive frame of mind than would be if they were up against Ole
or.....erm.......oh hang on, we dont have any other forwards do we..........

A fully functioning United, with Scholes and Ole in the team, playing at our
best, would have won that game. But as we all know, winning titles is about
getting results in the games that matter despite any handicaps. We've now
played both Arsenal & Chelsea, neither of whom played particularly great
against us, but we have beaten neither.

All the above sounds a bit pessimistic. It's not meant that way, more just
thinking out loud on my current feelings about stuff. Tell you what
though....I still reckon we'll win the league.
