We've got a news page featuring stories for either staff, students or both. Additionally these stories are split into two 'strands'. The news strands are working well using keywords, and I'm about to do the same with the audience types, however I'm conscious that adding keywords to items from SmartEdit is not a particularly intuitive process for front-end authors.
Is it possible to use an option list to assign keywords? That way the users would simply create their story in the one form, assigning the audience type and news strand there, i.e. a one-step process rather than creating the article and then having to remember to assign the keyword - which is after all the bit which makes it all work... I'm aware that the alternative would be to use the option lists and some conditional coding and dispense with the keywords altogether, but I'm not entirely confident that we could satisfactorily replace all the functionality that categories and keywords appear to be built to provide.
