I am urging against using External Dynamics, not the Application Portal. And, actually, I'm not even doing that. I'm advising you think about why you want to run ASP code inside of LiveServer before deciding that you are going to do. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be done. External Dynamics have some significant limitations.
There is a big difference between what External Dynamics and the Application Portal allow you to do. The original post was asking about why ASP files being delivered by LiveServer were not being executed. External Dyamics can be used to execute ASP files that are stored inside a LiveServer project. Application Portal can integrate an ASP application with a LiveServer project, but it's integration rather than execution. Application Portal is just one option for integrating external systems with a LiveServer website. The Web Service Connector and the Include DynaMent are also very capable integration tools. Each option has its strengths and weaknesses. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RedDot CMS Users" group.
