What about; Point the GSA at liveserver using filters and also point the GSA at the non liveserver content too. You should proxy the queries via a form in front of the GSA...not to the GSA directly, and you can also modify how you display the results thus removing the FQDN from the resultset. You can connect the GSA via a web service too.
