We did this with a custom RQL script. You can run it in the template itself
but this relies on the user viewing the page in SmartEdit at least once as
RQL doesn't run at publish time. Our ultimate solution was to create a new
plug-in that users used instead of "Create and Connect Page". It wasn't a
generic solution though as we needed a few other things done to the content
class instance as well.
