Thanks Stefan. I guess PreExecute wasn't quite what I was after then - do you know how I can achieve 'hide in all RedDot views (smartedit AND preview), but show when published' functionality? I believe this must be a very common requirement for anything dynamic that's not RedDot/ Render tags/VBscript, etc.
Many thanks, - Bobby On Jul 24, 7:44 am, Stefan Buchali <[email protected]> wrote: > RDExecute is not a block. > It is just an HTML comment that causes RedDot to run the whole page > through IIS in SmartEdit and Preview right before sending it to the > client. > > Today Gavin Cope released a great article on debugging > PreExecute:http://www.reddotcmsblog.com/debugging-pre-executed-classic-asp > this may be helpful for some background information. > > For some background information about PreExecute and RDExecute I refer > to my first post on this topic (17 July, 15:36), or have a look at my > post here (in > German):http://www.sfebusiness.com/reddot-reihenfolge-seitenerzeugung/ > > Regards, > Stefan > > On 22 Jul., 17:59, bobbykjack <[email protected]> wrote: > > > I have a need for this exact behaviour since, for some reason, there's > > no block mark to represent 'show in redot but not in publication'.
