I think she's talking about the same instance i.e. copy the contents of one element to another on the same page. I'm fairly certain you can't do this with render tags, unless it's some mystical undocumented feature (which wouldn't surprise me either) We just wrote a plugin that takes source and target element names as parameters and copies the text from one to the other.
