Hi,

I'm relatively new RedDot user, but I've got about ten years Web
development/design experience. I've phased myself out of the
development arena somewhat, and my interaction with the RedDot CMS is
largely as a user.

My question is about appearance schedules. From what I've been told
(and discovered unintentionally for myself), if you set up an
appearance schedule on a page that already contains content, the page
will become unavailable until the date and time that you've set. Is
that the correct functionality?

The only way I'm aware of to get around this is to create a copy of
the page, add the updated content to the copy, and schedule the old to
disappear at the same time as the new one shows up. Of course the
problem is, it's going to be a new URL every time you do this, so it
can't be good for SEO.

Are there any workarounds for this? I suppose you could use URL
aliases to keep the paths the same, but I'm afraid of the potential
problems that could cause.

Doug
