It wont write anything as it is assigned a value (this value appears on published page not before that) only when page is published not in CMS.
I would suggest to use RQL to get the published file name. <IODATA loginguid="[!guid_login!]" sessionkey="[!key!]"> <PAGE action="load" guid="[!guid_page!]"/> </IODATA> parse the response to fetch file name.
